Ανάρτηση Womentors-Active Citizens

It was a great pleasure to attend the Closing Ceremony for the Active citizens fund Greece, along with the donor countries as well as representatives of the Civil Society from all over Greece.

The Active citizens fund in Greece was supported through a €15 m grant from Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway as part of the EEA Grants 2014 – 2021. The programme aimed to develop the sustainability and capacity of the civil society sector in Greece, and to strengthen its role in promoting and safeguarding democratic procedures, active citizenship and human rights. The Fund Operator for the Active citizens fund in Greece was Bodossaki Foundation in consortium with SolidarityNow.

One of the programs selected for funding was WOMENTORS: Empowering young women, with Lambrakis Foundation as a project promoter and Mission ANTHROPOS as a partner in the health sector. Throught  this program, more than 15,273 young women were empowered, and 262 leaders were trained.

During the event, Margarita Chala, a beneficiary turned leader, shared her own story of empowerment, inspiring the audience.

We are very proud to participate in the great impact created through Active Citizens Fund in Greece, and we are hoping for new initiatives like this!
